Understanding the Times 1 & 2

Understanding the Times is a landmark course developed by Summit Ministries to help guide students towards understanding the ideas and forces shaping our times. It offers a fascinating, comprehensive look at the how the tenets of the Christian worldview compares with the five major competing worldviews of our day: Islam, Secular Humanism, Marxism, New Age, and Postmodernism. Based on the text, Understanding the Times, is a systematic way to understand the ideas that rule our world. While the material is expansive, the engaging, easy-to-understand teaching sessions, writing style, and course engagement strategies will invite students to discover the truths of God — and our world. After completing this course, a student will be able to understand and confess what the Christian faith believes, what other worldviews believe and how such worldviews compare to Christianity, and finally, how to take these concepts into the culture in which we live, addressing critical issues our world faces. This vital course is a must-have for every Christian student headed off to college.
